HELP!! Can I DIE from a CPAP Machine?
I have a CPAP Machine. Its a few years old and I don’t have insurance to get a decent one. The hose is taped but works fine. Is the air suppose to be at such a high pressure? the controls really don’t work so i am not sure If its functioning correctly. I have sleep apnea (severe) and its ruining my life. I really need REST-FULL SLEEP. At least a few nights, id settle for that. My question is how can I get help (without insurance) and will the machine kill me if i use it? My fear is that i will forget to breath and the air will just keep filling my body, is this plausible? Really appreciate any help. Thanks so much.
The supplier that you got if from should be able to test the pressures. The pressure may seem high if you have not used it and are not used it. Trying the ramp setting may heldp
A new hose is about 10 dollars certainly worth the money. A tape hose may leak and lead the machine not to be effective. A new cpap from an online source is very cheap. A few hundred dollars for everything. That is cheap considering the effects of untreated sleep apnea. You can also get a used one from an online ebay type site. To answer you anser that the cpap slints open the airway so you will not stop breathing.
