Photographers & Videographers: why would somebody want to videoshoot at 24 fps rather than 30 fps?
i read this in an article:
By the way, for those of you Canon EOS 5D Mark II owners clamoring for 24p, sorry, but all my sources say that it is very unlikely to be fixed in firmware for the 5D2. You’ll either have to get the 7D or wait for the 5dm3.

Is 24 fps better? if so..why? Isnt the higher better?
Back when Movie cameras were invented, they had to get the most realistic motions at the smallest amount of frames. The more frames, the more money it cost. So 24 fps became the standard. And all the movies you see uses that frame rate. In order to achieve the movie look you would need to bring your frame rate down to 24 fps.
Now 30fps is more realistic in it’s motion, but because we are used to seeing movies and television shows shot at 24fps it looks more like a cheap camera. In order to achieve a cinematic look you need to shoot in 24fps.
You can tell the difference, I think game shows and a lot of sitcoms are shot at 30 fps. So can you imagine seeing a big budget movie at 30fps. it will seem like they shot it on a cheap camera.
