Is it ok to use different brands rechargeable batteries and charger?
They are both NiMH 1.2V AAA, but the charger is Sanyo Eneloop and the batteries are GP 2700. (The batteries are a pair.)
But, the batteries say 2600 mAh while the charger says something like 500 ma (without the ‘h’ at the end).
Rajinder–I doubled-checked the charger and the 550 was actually for AA, for AAA it was 380. But, I checked the batteries *which came with the charger as part of the same package* and they are listed at 2000 mAh…so how can your 10% rule be true? Unless Sanyo/eneloop is selling mismatched products in the same packet, which is certainly possible, but i would think unlikely.

Most certainly!
You CAN use those rechargeable batteries on that charger without any problems. Just check when the voltage gets to 1.4 V, then take them off. Even though they are rated at 1.2, they all charge to 1.4, sometimes to 1.5.
This will not damage your batteries in any way. Just remember to take them off before they get over 1.4
Everyone is saying not to try it, but It is 100% OK, as I said, just take them off at the correct time.
